This Month’s Storywalk®
A Teeny Tiny Halloween

Every Autumn, the teeny tiny woman’s, teeny tiny house in the forest is completely buried by the falling leaves, which is not a teeny tiny problem. She tries making noises of increasing intensity, but no one hears her. As she is loudly banging cookie sheets together to no avail, she decides on a new strategy.
The delicious aroma of chocolate chip cookies baking in her oven soon does attract three children (a cat, a witch and a ghost) who are out trick-or-treating. “The cat on all fours kicks away the dry leaves: crackle, crackle. The witch sweeps leaves away with the broom: swoosh, swish. And the ghost fans them away with his billowing sleeves: whooooo, whooooo.” Soon, they are all enjoying a sweet Halloween treat together.

The Friends of the Moretown Memorial Library is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to encourage community engagement, promote volunteer opportunities and raise financial resources to support and enhance the library’s programs and services for all.
Some of our recent activities include:
- Working with the Library Director to purchase several new stories for the Storywalk™
- Providing crafts and food at Morefest
- Overseeing a student volunteer project
- Installing the latest Storywalk™ story
- Landscaping at the old library building
- Maintaining the Little Free Library at the Moretown General Store
- Applying for grants
- Working with the Library Trustees on their Strategic Bridge Plan
- Discussing ways we can help support the upcoming improvements to the Town Hall building
